Vintage 3 Speed Bicycles

1964 AMF Hercules 3 Speed

Found on Ebay, this bike is quite clean and original. The asking price is a little steep at $600.00. The most I’ve ever paid for a vintage bicycle was $425.00 a couple of years ago for a very clean 1976 Raleigh Tourist with some period accessories attached.

    • I don’t ride that one as much as I should because it’s so nice. I think the price was very fair considering the fine condition.
You should come to the Vintage Bicycle Show this summer. I’m having a quick meeting with the guys at Community Bicycle Network today.

  2. Yeah, what is with all these expensive three speeds? Sheesh.
There was a nice 70′s Tourist DL-1 on Seattle CL. Nice shape, but they wanted $1100. And we’re talking no chaincase, no Dynohub, etc.

Another overpriced bike is this Rudge on Seattle CL for $675.

This one is a bit steep, but I think it’s more fair than others, as it’s old enough, has a 4 speed hub, and is the rarer 23″ size.

    • I agree. The market will dictate.
