  1. Nice bike, but what is it with these obscene prices? Even $400 for a Huffy Sportsman is too much.

    • I agree but…. $400.00 is really not a lot of money these days in terms of buying power. The most I ever paid for a very clean and original bicycle (A 1976 Raleigh Tourist) was $435.00.

      • Maybe bike prices are a bit higher than even here in over-inflated Portland? Even as a three-speed enthusiast I have to say that the three-speed was a work-a-day, not-rare bike, so to see pricing based on assumed scarceness or “specialness” bothers me a bit. And the thing about the Huffy is while it’s made by Raleigh, it’s an off-brand Raleigh so shouldn’t demand the same prices as a badged Raleigh (unless the bike was unique/covetable in a certain way.) I’ve seen a Sportsmens on Portland CL, but rarely north of $200.

        Just my two cents.
