Vintage 3 Speed English Bicycles

Chat

Eastman Windsor

This bike showed up on Kijiji, Toronto today at a very reasonable $35.00.

Listed as an on old English bicycle, it’s actually from India and would be the good basis for a vintage Path Racer.

28″ wheels, rod and lever brakes, drop bars and a double top tube!

I found a bicycle that is similar to your Eastman Windsor, with the “upside down” handlebars, and the headbadge bears the name “Royal Cycle.” In a month and a half I have not been able to find any information on these bikes, and I want to replace the handlebar/rod brake setup with the same, but newer setup. I have photographs that I can post, but I want to talk to someone about this bike. Please have them email me a phone number and I’ll call that shop. Thanks

    • I’ve sent you a note. I wouldn’t spend too much money on a bike like this.If it has the old style rod and lever brakes, parts are available from India/China. The rims are not compatible with modern caliper brakes.

Thanks, Greg, and I appreciate your response. I do not intend to “upgrade” to caliper brakes, instead, keeping the same configuration-only “fresher”. Can you refer me to some supplier(s) from India/China, if you have that information? I haven’t a clue. The parts would be similar to those on the red bike pictured above, on this page. All is greatly appreciated.
