Vintage 3 Speed English Bicycles

Department Store Raleighs

We know that Raleigh built bicycles for Eatons (Glider) and Canadian Tire (Supercycle).

Other re-branded bicycles continue to show up.

Here’s a British Supreme 3 speed.$_2gffgfgfgh7.jpg$_2gnfn7.jpg$_2fffgnf7.jpg$_2gfnzfn7.jpg

I would think this one was a 73/73 model.

I wonder how many bikes you would have to order to get your own brand?

In the mid-1970s I bought a Royal Scot 3-speed at a yard sale in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. Apparently this was a Raleigh-made store brand sold in New York. I still have the bike and it still rides nicely. I traded the head badge to a guy in return for a tune-up years ago and have regretted it ever since. The date on the hub was early 70s.

    • It would be interesting to know how many bikes you would have to order to get your own “brand” from Raleigh.
