Indian Eastman Path Racer Update

I’ve done a little more work to my Eastman built Windsor Winchester Path Racer.

It’s certainly an attractive bike to look at but not the most comfortable one to ride.

It does have a strange geometry to it.

P1100960 P1100972 P1100962The rod and lever brakes, while stylish don’t compare to modern brakes for stopping power. Some of the brake parts are marked “Shelco”.

P1100964I’ve added a NOS composite spring saddle.

P1100966Motorcycle style rear hub adjusters.

P1100967 P1100968In some places it’s marked “Windsor”.

P1100970Some parts are labelled “Eastman”.

P1100974I also added a new pair of MKS rubber pedals, available at Hoopdriver Cycles here in Toronto @ $30.00/pair.

I do recommend these pedals as they are a good size (large) and are real rubber. Some of the other vintage style pedals are hard plastic.

P1100945I had another one of these bikes that I’d salvaged some parts from. I sold it yesterday to a guy from St. Catherines that plans to use it as the basis for a WW1 repro bicycle to use in military re-enactment shows.

I’ve asked him to send me photos of the progress so we’ll see how that turns out.
